Provide Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic (HVAC/R) support services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Training Center (TRACEN) Birmingham Southern located at 900 Arkadelphia Road, Birmingham, AL, 35254.

What You’ll Do
Provide Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic (HVAC/R) support services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Training Center (TRACEN) Birmingham Southern located at 900 Arkadelphia Road, Birmingham, AL, 35254.
What You’ll Have
- Comprehensive knowledge of shore-side ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment/systems and technical blueprints.
- Valid EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
- General knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, and operation of automated building control systems.
- Documented commercial/industrial HVAC&R experience on centrifugal chillers, air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, large AHUs, and automated control systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting proficiency in electrical circuits, refrigerant cycle analysis, and hydronic balancing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the refrigeration cycle of commercial and industrial systems.
- Proven ability to locate and inspect for leaks, apply prescribed test procedures, and diagnose equipment failures.
- Sound knowledge of air conditioning and refrigerant tables.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English.
