What You’ll Do The Contractor shall ensure a shift leader is present for each scheduled shift of employees to execute work requirements. The shift leader is a supervisory role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a housekeeping team, ensuring cleanliness standards are met, and managing staff performance. This includes tasks like assigning work, training staff, and conducting inspections. They also play a crucial role in maintaining inventory and ensuring a safe working environment. The shift leader will be stationed at the Seattle VA campus.
Supervising and Training Staff
Overseeing the daily activities of housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting training on cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and customer service.
Conducting inspections to ensure they meet established cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards.
Monitoring and managing housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment, reporting shortages to the appropriate manager.
Ensuring that housekeeping staff adhere to safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Adhere to all rules and regulations regarding health and safety, as directed by management.
What You’ll Have
Shift Leaders shall possess at least one (1) year of experience in housekeeping services.
Shift leaders shall be knowledgeable in developing and maintaining quality control.
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift at least 25 lbs.
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and drive to continuously identify areas for improvement.
Ability to lead, motivate, and delegate tasks effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and guests.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain accurate records.
Ability to identify and resolve issues related to cleanliness, staff performance, or guest requests.
Understanding proper cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety protocols.
