VW International, Inc. is a building maintenance contractor for the 55th Medical Group located at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Electrician capable of performing building and equipment required electrical maintenance, repair and preventative maintenance.
A Maintenance Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions including, but not limited to, new construction and electrical service work. This may include lighting; distribution; branch circuit and finish work as related to electrical. Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires well rounded training and experience usually acquired through working on a service truck. A State of Nebraska Journeyman’s license is required
In addition, the Maintenance Electrician will perform periodic PM (Preventative Maintained), inspections along with general electrical maintenance and repair of equipment. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors. Must be able to work on step and extension ladders and must be able to repetitively pick-up 50 lbs. All tools are furnished by VW International, Inc. at no cost to the employee.
Other duties will be assigned by management as needed to support the mission of the owner.
This is full time position, 40 hours per week, normally from 0700 to 1530 hours. Each of five technicians take turn being on-call for evening and weekend alarms. Hourly pay is currently $23.83 per hour plus $4.48 per hour for health & Welfare. 10 Paid holidays are included. Vacation is 2 weeks after the first year. 3 Weeks after 8 and 4 weeks after 15 years of service. In addition, sick/personal it is accumulated to a maximum of 56 hours per year.
